My delivery from ‘Everything5Pounds’ arrived today and I thought I’d give you guys my immediate impressions. I’ll also be blogging these items as part of outfit posts later, but thought you’d like to hear back asap about whether I’d recommend them.
The answer is….. with caution! I’ve been really impressed with some of the items I’ve bought but not so much for others. I’ve also bought some stuff from JustFor5Pounds so will be doing a vs review soon too….
Firstly… the pink lazer cut wedges.
These are really light – which implies that they’re cheap but I think it’s a good thing as wedges can often be super heavy and clumpy. They are ridiculously comfortable and easy to wear so I am planning to wear them to the May Ball I’m going to in Cambridge as my dress is really long so I need very high shoes that can last 10 hours of standing up!
Disappointingly, they came with a big sticker glued to them which took me quite a while (and some help from the wise internet world) to get off. But now that’s done I’m really happy. The quality is not exactly outstanding, with a few mistakes and blemishes here an there, but for a fiver I’m relatively happy.
The next thing I got was the purple winged handbag. I’m really pleased with how this one looks on, but again the quality is pretty poor (but what do you expect for a fiver?!)
It’s not lined and then zip is already looking a bit dodgy, but it’s a great size for a day bag (could fit umbrella, flats, diary, phone, etc) and it’s so so current. The shoulder strap doesn’t have any loops to clip on to but I’ve just attached it to the handle and I rather like how that looks actually! This is probably my favourite item.
Next were my toe capped heels. From the picture I thought these were black but they’re actually dark green! To be fair the website does say dark green so it’s my own fault, but the picture does definitely look black! I don’t really like the green so I think I’ll put them up for sale in my charity shop Find Me. Colour aside, these are a really great buy. The fabric is pretty nice and they are well made and even came in individual dust bags! I’d say these were the best quality item I bought.
Continuing in the excessive heel purchasing trend I ALSO got these baby blue, coral and white heels with a lazer cut cross front. These were a totally spur of the moment purchase and although I have no idea if/when I’ll wear them I do really like them! They’re also pretty comfy due to the great support on the front.
Now onto the clothes….
I got a cream chiffon dipped back t-shirt which I am pretty excited about wearing. It’s arrived very creased so that’s not ideal, and it does have a mark on (pictured) but I think it’ll look really expensive once I dress it up.
Finally, the blue and white striped silk dress. It’s super cute and I really love the bell sleeves. Of course the fabric is of fairly middling quality, and there’s no zip. But I like it, and I think I’ll definitely wear it soon!
So, overall…. I think Everything5Pounds is great for shoes, and has lots of cool clothes too, but you should take it with a pinch of salt, and not get too caught up in the online spirit. Don’t forget how much £5 can buy you in a charity shop or carboot sale, and make sure it’s something you would buy if you saw it in a shop at that price.
