As with every Valentines, I like to try and wear red to spread some Valentines joy! I know it’s a really commercial holiday, but it can’t hurt to have an extra reason to tell people you love them.
For Lent I’ve given up shopping (see the full post about it here) so this outfit had to be something I already had in my wardrobe. In the end it turned out I had two red items I’d never even worn! The top looks a bit orange in these pictures but it’s actually bright red. I’ll be blogging the red dress another time, but for now here’s my Valentines peplum….
Red peplum top from Oasis sale (with embossed quilted flower design) – £4.60, Oasis Poole
Black maxi skirt – £4.99 – eBay
Brown bow belt – £1 – Primark
Blue glass heart necklace – gift – from Venice from my parents
Dark pink lipstick – gift – Bobbi Brown (reward for taking part in a survey on campus)
I also made my man a Valentines jar this year. The glass jar was just £2.50 from a homeware store in Bath, and then I shredded serviettes from Poundland to make the confetti, and wrote date ideas etc on paper to go inside.
Even my walk up to campus was romantic as I finally noticed the writing on this awesome graffiti art – so cute! And who can complain about this sunny view on a February morning.
