I really love Millie Mactintosh’s style diary blog and when I saw the above picture I just fell in love with the nail colour. Of course, I don’t know exactly which brand it is, but I found one that I think is identical in Boots! I don’t often stray from Barry M, but I just had to have this shade.
It’s Seventeen and it’s from their ‘Quicker Slicker Colour’ range. The exact shade is ‘Peacock’ and it retails at £2.99.
It has a big chunky brush which can be a bit tricky to use if you have narrow nails. I made a bit of a mess, but it was super super quick (as advertised!) and I found it dried really quickly and was pretty durable. The big brush was definitely better for my toes as they don’t need to be so tidy!
Once it was dry it had a really love super smooth feel and lasted pretty well too. I only needed two coats, and they came out totally streak free.
I did my non matching nail with the peacock underneath and two coats of Seventeen Silver Kisses on top. It made a really nice second coat, and was still very smooth (I sometimes find the glitter polishes can feel really rough). This one also just had a normal brush, which I do find tidier to use, but I suppose that’s where they get the “quicker” part of the name from!
They were 3 for 2 at Boots so I also got a white which will be my next NOTD (nails of the day) post.
Of course I always start and finish my nails with the Barry M top coat too to prevent staining my nails and the polish chipping too quickly. A must have! And a steal at £3.99.
I even used it on my toes – which are red 99% of the time so this was quite a change! It’s also lasting really really well as I my pedicures normally get killed by my heels pretty quickly.
Finally – here is a sneak peek of a beautiful silk peacock skirt I got off eBay this week and will be blogging soon…..
