I am starting a new feature and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it…. it’s called Splurge Friday.
One of the great things about being so careful with the money I spend on fashion and beauty is that when I see something wonderful I can spend a little more than other people might be able to. Of course, it’s worth recognising quality when you see it, and by saving on pennies I occasionally splurge on pounds! I thought you might like to see which I things I deem worthy of this carefully squirrelled cash so once a week I’ll be blogging something costing more than £5 and you can decide if you think I made the right choice!
This week will be….
Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator
Available here to buy – RRP £47 for 30ml
This is the first time I’d tried primer but their advertising campaign made such big claims (improving uneven skintone, blotches, blemishes, redness, and leaving the skin luminous) that I just had to try it. Now, I couldn’t live without a primer and this is certainly my first choice for the moment.
It’s a pearly colour and lasts really well – I just use one pump for my whole face. Once it’s applied my skin feels really satiny and smooth. It makes my makeup go on a lot smoother and stops it clinging to dry patches or wrinkles. I also wear it even if I’m not wearing makeup though, as I do think it calms the look of my skin. As I have very fair delicate skin (Scandinavian blood!) it can be quite red and blotchy so I love this product for improving that. Whether it’s making life long dramatic changes I’m not sure, but I liked it enough to buy about a years supply!
