I knew I had to get this skirt as soon as I saw the fabric. On top of that it’s also a really quality thick fabric, it almost feels slightly like super narrow corduroy. The flashes of orange look great against the navy and white. Unfortunately, it’s too big for me (I’ve pinched it in with the belt here) so my lucky lucky Mum is going to get this one! Will try and post a picture of her wearing it, sure she’ll look amazing.
Then I paired it with a navy vest that’s got awesome cut out shoulder detail. It brings out the navy in the skirt without being too matchy-matchy and then the nude skinny belt adds a bit of a break-up.
Navy cut out shoulder vest – ($3.99) £2 – Goodwill, Harrison Ave, Boston, USA
Banana Republic orange and navy patterned skirt – ($4.99) £3.50 – Goodwill, Harrison Ave, Boston, USA
Nude skinny belt – £1 – Primark sale
Peacock blue nail polish – £2.99 – Seventeen, Boots
And here’s the secret thrifting tip a friend taught me this week…. a lot of brands (J Crew, Banana Republic and others) have their season written in the tag. So this skirt is from Spring/Summer 2011. This is really handy when you’re buying clothes to know how old they are and how current the trend is – handy!
Love your outfit!
Way to go score these awesome finds!
