On the Sunday I headed out to the Big Vintage Lunch at Shelley Theatre near Boscombe. It was a brilliant event – really well organised with lots of different activities and entertainment. I’d highly recommend going next year, and if you can’t wait that long then head over to The Shake and Stir festival which is organised by the same group(s) and is also free for the daytime activities!
Of course I had to embrace the theme of 50s and dress appropriately. I opted for a big floral skirt (plus my Grandma’s massive vintage petticoat) and a cropped purple shirt with retro sunglasses. Then adding red lipstick and pearls was absolutely essential!
Outfit costs:
Skirt: £1.99 – Salvation Army charity shop, Ashley Road, Poole
Petticoat – free – vintage from my Grandma
Purple polka dot blouse – £1 – Cheshire Box charity shop, Ashley Road, Poole
Belt – £2 – Primark
Pearls – £4 – India
Sunglasses – £1.50 – Lewis-Manning hospice charity shop, Ashley Road, Poole
Handbang (featured later) – £2.50 – Waggy Tails charity shop, Ashley Road, Poole
Kirsty’s Closet did a lovely workshop with kids making rainbow net skirts – adorable!
Live graffiti from Redtail Studios
My essentials – vintage camera bag/handbag, red lipstick
A fab retro dance workshop by Pavilion SW
LOVE this look- that skirt is FAB!
Your outfit is gorgeous! You’re right, the red lippy and pearls are perfect 🙂
Thanks Hun. Can’t go wrong with a red lipstick 🙂
You look amazingggggg. Have you visited the new vintage emporium yet?
Not yet but I’m dying to! Road trip??
Great outfit, you can’t beat a bit of 50s inspired fashion. I wish I’d known about this event as I’m local to there and it looks awesome! Still… there’s always the Shake and Stir 🙂
