Diary of Thrifted Outfits

For the last two months I’ve been living in Chiang Mai (Thailand) and, as always, wearing almost entirely thrifted outfits. It’s been an enforced capsule wardrobe for me as I’ve only got 20kgs of suitcase space – eek! I’m normally a serious clothing hoarder so it’s been a fun change to try the minimalist wardrobe thing for a bit. I thought you guys might like to see a quick roundup of some of my favourites Charity Shop OOTD pictures, so here goes!

Red Dress – Goodwill, Boston – £3

I thrifted this dress in Boston and it’s become one of my absolute favourites. I wasn’t too over excited when I found it as it is a much bigger size than I normally wear and I was worried it would be a bit middle aged hippy. However, as soon as I put it on I fell in love! It buttons all the way down the front so it’s really versatile, and feels super glamorous with some leg showing! It’s made of a linen feel fabric so creases like crazy, but is also lovely and cool. The only downside is that wearing red means the street sellers or charity collectors always pick you to talk to! Worth it for the instagrams though….

Black and White Playsuit – Poole Carboot Sale – 50p

This playsuit is my go to when I’m too hot to wear anything other than a bikini! It’s teeny tiny but it’s perfect for cooling off. I love playsuits as they’re suuuuper easy if you’re feeling lazy in the morning, and they take up barely any luggage space. This one has got a cut out strappy back so also adds that little bit of detailing. Plus, you can’t go wrong with black and white monochrome.

Blue Co-ords – Skirt: Second Time Around, £10, Top: Chiang Mai Market, £2.50

This pairing is one of my favourite outfits in my collection. The skirt is pleated silk and in that gorgeous deep blue that looks so luxurious, and the top is a little bargain find I discovered on a market sale rack right here in Chiang Mai. It’s got lace up sides and a cropped waist so is right on trend but also super wearable. I’m currently phasing out bras from my life (more on that later!) so am finally able to embrace the open sides top style. Yay!

Hawaiian Maxi Dress – Mauer Park Flea Market, Berlin – £2

You will have seen this already on my Youtube Channel if you watched my Berlin Thrifted Fashion Haul. I picked it up at my new favourite flea market, in central Berlin, for an absolute steal. It’s got splits up both sides and it lovely thin cotton so is perfect for this super hot sun. I don’t always think go black as being summery but the old school tropical print on this, and the perfect fit to my body bring home some serious cocktail vibes.
