DIY Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

Today’s DIY post is from Beautiful Becky who is a regular guest on the fashionsection of this blog. She’s clearly very multi talented! After much browsing on Pinterest, I came across a home-made toner that claims to even skin tone, get rid of bacteria and reducing acne and pimples. All you need is Apple Cider Vinegar and a tap! Ridiculously cheap! I’d recommend getting the good, unfiltered stuff. Bragg’s is a good brand but for the £5 pauper budget this one’s a steal.

So, I put 1 part ACV and 2 parts water into a bottle. You can also use it 1:1 or 1:3 depending on how sensitive your skin is.
A word of warning: it’s got a pretty potent smell. It disappears after a few minutes though so if you can stand it, it’s worth a go.
After I’ve cleansed and washed my face, I apply the toner with a cotton pad (it’s easier than using your fingers) and as it’s so thin you don’t need that much. Immediately after I put it on, my face has some red patches, can still see some pimples so I don’t immediately think ‘oh this is amazing!’ but not many products will give you an immediate effect in the real world.
In the morning I could definitely see that my skin tone evened and was the same colour all over. The red patches were gone and it looked generally healthier.
I wouldn’t say it’s a quick fix for spots, but I’m hoping with time it will have a lasting effect.
