Dr Botanicals Review – Moroccan Rose Range

A few weeks ago I was THRILLED to receive a kind gift from Dr Botanicals. They are a vegan and cruelty-free beauty brand so I knew they were someone I wanted to try and support. All their products are 100% organic and paraben free, and made in the UK – sign me up!

The section of their website that caught my eye was the Moroccan Rose range. I opted to try the oil and the moisturiser as I’m currently looking to hydrate my skin better (it’s oily so I tend to neglect that phase but I know it’s the best way to prevent ageing so I’m trying to improve). Both products are apparently rich in fatty acids so should leave your skin renewed, hydrated and firm – sounds good to me!

First up; the oil. I’ve tried facial oils before (ranging from Luna Sunday Riley (painfully $$$) to good old Bio Oil).  They’ve always left me with an oily residue, which was fine as I was applying them overnight, but didn’t help alleviate my worries about clogging my oily skin. However, this one feels almost like a serum – it’s super thin and is absorbed almost immediately. If you spend too long warming it in your hands it will have just sunk in – it’s that quick! For me that is pure joy – I’m way more likely to use a facial oil if it doesn’t leave me feeling greasy afterwards.

It also has the most amazing scent. It’s not like a scented product, but instead smells like actual perfume. I can’t quite place which perfume it reminds me of, but I would totally use this to dab on my wrists if I forgot to pack a perfume! It’s a kind of floral, fresh blend. Great for me as I love it, but not recommended if you don’t like scented beauty products – this one really packs a punch.

Similarly, the moisturiser is very lightweight. It absorbs super quickly, has a more gel than cream consistency, and shares the same beautiful scent as the oil.

With both of these products you need only the TINIEST big. With the oil I don’t use more than 3-4 drops for the whole face, and the moisturiser is just a little tap of my finger on the top. I can’t see myself running out of these for at least 6 months, probably a whole lot longer.

I’ve only had these for a bit over a week so far but I’ve been really impressed so far. Both as very light to wear (especially the oil) and the scent is gorgeous. I’ll need to wait a bit longer to report back if this really is the fountain of youth…. but I have high hopes.

I loved reading your article! I came across Dr Botanicals a few months ago and I’m now devoted to their Superfood Oil. It keeps my dry but acne prone skin looking dewy all day. I now want to try this too!
