Our 30 Day Declutter challenge team!

Today marked Day 1 of my 30 Day Declutter Challenge. Since posting about it yesterday I’ve had a bunch of people writing in to say they’re joining me – so exciting!

So, I thought I’d introduce you to everyone so far, and of course offer you the chance to jump on the bandwagon too. The first day is only 1 item so you’ll find it nice and easy to catch up.

Just to clarify in case it was a bit vague – this challenge isn’t just for clothes, you can get rid of ANYTHING in your house – e.g. cosmetics, cleaning products, christmas decorations, whatever you can find. And it doesn’t all have to go to a charity shop – some may go in the bin, or some you may want to sell or pass on to someone – any method that gets it out of the house.

So, let’s meet the team:

My Mum and I are teaming up to split the challenge between us. Today we started off with this lovely yellow vase – think it’ll fly off the shelves at a charity shop, but we have repainted our kitchen from yellow to blue so it doesn’t match any more.

We’ve also had another mother daughter pair get in touch – Clare and Lauren. They’ve both put in an item of clothing today so they’re already one ahead of quota!

A good friend of ours Diva Jane is also going to rope in her family! And today this dressing gown is getting the chop….

Finally, Miss Cathi (who you may recognise from previous DIY posts) is going to do her own version of the challenge – 2 items of clothing per day. No mean feat at 60 items total! Looking forward to seeing her progress.

Great idea! “Too much stuff” really is a problem for devoted thrifters. At some point, most of us have got to do a ruthless declutter–or else move out and leave the house to the stuff! Good luck meeting the challenge. (Sweet photo of you and your mum.)

I’d love to join!!! As yet another thrift queen, I’ve amassed more stuff than I need and it’s becoming too much.
