I do occasionally dabble with a sewing machine, but more often than not I’m drawn to a simple pair of fabric scissors for my ‘DIY’. There have been several occasions when my Mum’s come into my bedroom to find me surrounded by fabric, having made all my tshirts cropped, and turned all my skirts into minis.
This dress represents a similar occasion in which I bought a long, floral, frumpy dress from a charity shop just because I loved the print and fabric. A few chops later and I’d made a summer mini dress.
I took out a panel at the neckline to make it lower cut, and also slashed a lot of fabric off the bottom. I don’t tend to be very methodical about this so normally the front ends up longer than the back, but it does the trick!
Hope you like it and it helps you look at clothes in charity shops in a new way.
