I’m making some big changes!
I recently read an amazing article on TubeFilter about youtube channels and it said, very loudly, that if your channel is diverse you are doomed to fail. This year my channel has grown, and I’m really thankful for that, but I think it should be faster. The quality and feedback are both good, and I’m seeing other channels grow way faster than mine. However, mine is VERY diverse. I cover fashion, beauty, travel, online working, and pretty much anything I take a fancy to!
So, I’ve decided that in 2017 I’m going to focus my channel entirely on being a Digital Nomad Girl. That means I’ll still do travel vlogs, travel lookbooks and beauty tips, but no more thrift hauls (#gasp!). My blog will still have thrifted outfits and hauls and tips, but you Youtube is going to focused on Nomad Life. I’ll also be doing lots of motivational and explanatory videos about what it’s like to be a Digital Nomad and how you can become one if you want.
There are a lot of Youtube Channels made by Digital Nomads already but there are none by girls that focus entirely on nomad life rather than travel vlogs. I want to tip the scales and give a female voice.
Thinking about what I want out of the channel I’ve realised that if even ONE PERSON comes up to me someday and says they had the courage to become a nomad because of my channel, that will mean way more to me than helping people choose what makeup to buy, getting invited to glamorous YSL launches, or even encouraging people to thrift. I’ve found my niche and I hope it’s going to change people’s lives fundamentally!
